Cravings
"Shit, totally worthy it!" I said as I keep munching.
Even the baby seemed happy about the food choice. For a moment it seemed like everything was normal and perfect. If only I was still a man, then truly everything would have been perfect. Instead, I was a very pregnant woman, after being stuck in the body of my parent's neighbor Carla. I have been miserable after she tricked me into swapping with her six months before during a Thanksgiving visit to my hometown, being female, pregnant and married to a man. Yet, I couldn't imagine how something as small as eating a burger would make it all disappear.
Alas, my joy was short. My phone started ringing again. It was Tony, Carla's husband, worried sick about my whereabouts. Well, I guess he had a point. After all, I did drive two states down to the nearest In-N-Out burger joint to eat. I tried to endure, I really did, but I was going crazy with the crave for their burger and their burger alone. What was I supposed to do? The alternative was to just moan and bitch about it for the whole day. Sure, it took me longer than it would have if I were still male due to the frequent bathroom brakes and my caution, but it was worthy, oh boy if it wasn't worthy.
That remains my position even today, even after my water broke halfway on the return trip and I ended up giving birth on the side of the road, assisted only by a kind truck driver who decided to help me.
